Sports Development Centre in Action

Bridgwater College Academy Sports Development Centre, formerly known as East Bridgwater Sports Centre, closed in March after the school secured funding to transform the facility into their own Sports Development Centre. The centre has been completely refurbished with new multi-purpose flooring in the 4 court badminton wide sports hall with brand new flooring, 4 refurbished squash courts with glass viewing doors and a brand new floodlit state of the art third 3G pitch, approved by the Football Association. The centre also manages the use of the Bridgwater College Academy grass football, rugby and cricket pitches.

The purpose of the facility is to offer the Academy’s students, families and the community the chance to participate in a wide range of accessible and affordable sporting activities within a high quality and friendly environment. Falling under the management of Bridgwater College Academy, the BCA Sports Development Centre facilities are primarily utilised during the week days to host PE lessons and after school activities, with the public use occurring at evenings and weekends.
